Smoking Salvia Divinorum

The process of smoking salvia is quite diffferent to the usual preferred method of smoking other herbs. The active principle in salvia divinorum, Salvinorin A needs a high temperature for it to be correctly extracted from the leaf.

This means that smoking salvia in a rolled cigarrette would be of little benefit. The easiest and most popular method is usually with a good sized water bong. The reason a water bong is the preferred method is that effects are usually easier achieved if you manage to inhale and hold down a large amount of smoke. Because of the cooling effect of the smoke as it passes through the water holding down the smoke becomes slightly easier.

As the Salvia you are smoking needs to be burnt at a high temperature it is found that "jet" or "blue flame" lighters obtain better results.

Fill your bowl with a moderate amount of salvia and try to smoke all the content of the bowl in one hit, hold this down for as long as you can manage.

If you are new to salvia it is best to just try one hit at first and see how you get on.

If you do not achieve the resuls you want then

smoke and fill a couple of bowls of salvia in quick succession.
It is best to stop using the lighter once the effects start to come on as sometimes you may not be aware of your own actions and this could result in unnecessary accidents occuring.
